Who We Are

We are a global human rights organization dedicated to protecting the dignity, freedom, and fundamental rights of every person. Founded on the belief that human rights are universal and indivisible, we work across borders to defend those who cannot defend themselves and to hold the powerful accountable.

Our team includes lawyers, researchers, advocates, and grassroots organizers united by a shared conviction: that justice is possible when people come together to demand it.

Our Mission

To investigate, document, and expose human rights abuses wherever they occur—and to drive meaningful change through advocacy, legal action, and public pressure.

We believe that shining a light on injustice is the first step toward ending it.

What We Do

Research & Documentation

We conduct rigorous, on-the-ground investigations into human rights violations, gathering testimony, evidence, and data that form the foundation of our advocacy. Our research teams work in some of the world's most challenging environments to ensure abuses do not go unrecorded.

Legal Advocacy

We pursue accountability through national and international legal systems, supporting survivors in bringing cases against perpetrators and pushing for systemic legal reforms that strengthen human rights protections.

Campaigning & Public Engagement

We mobilize public pressure to drive change. Through petitions, media outreach, and grassroots campaigns, we amplify the voices of those affected by injustice and call on governments, corporations, and institutions to act.

Emergency Response

When crises emerge—armed conflict, mass displacement, political repression—we respond rapidly, documenting abuses in real time and advocating for immediate protection of civilians and vulnerable populations.

Education & Training

We equip activists, journalists, lawyers, and community leaders with the knowledge and tools they need to defend human rights in their own contexts through workshops, training programs, and educational resources.

Our Focus Areas

  • Civil & Political Rights — Freedom of expression, assembly, and the press; protection from arbitrary detention and torture; fair trial guarantees

  • Economic & Social Rights — Access to healthcare, education, housing, and an adequate standard of living

  • Rights of Marginalized Groups — Protection for refugees, migrants, Indigenous peoples, women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and persons with disabilities

  • Accountability & Justice — Ending impunity for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and systemic abuses

  • Digital Rights — Privacy, freedom from surveillance, and protection against online repression

Our Impact

Over the past decade, our work has contributed to:

  • The release of hundreds of prisoners of conscience

  • Landmark court rulings holding governments and corporations accountable

  • Policy reforms strengthening protections for refugees and asylum seekers

  • Global campaigns that shifted public opinion and corporate practices

  • Training thousands of human rights defenders worldwide

Behind every statistic is a person whose life was changed—and a community empowered to continue the fight.

How We're Funded

We are independent and impartial. The majority of our funding comes from individual donors, with additional support from private foundations. We do not accept government funding for our core research and advocacy work to ensure our findings and recommendations remain free from political influence.

Financial transparency is a cornerstone of our accountability. Our annual reports and audited financial statements are publicly available.
